Chrysanthemums in full bloom on October 6th.
There is much to be said for 5 days relaxing at the beach – no laundry, cooking, cleaning or deadheading roses, just quiet time to put together plans for next year. I am back and happy to announce that the 2014 Gardening Class Schedule is ready! Here is the link: http://www.learntogarden.net/2012-course-schedule/ . At the top of the page is an option to download or print the schedule.
Itineraries for the 8 gardening courses and bonus “Kitchen class” on Preserving the Harvest, are very similar to the past year. Students will also be invited to attend many private garden tours that are included with the program. Each gardening course will be repeated on 3 dates –Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays in order to keep class sizes small and to allow students flexibility in scheduling.
Please email me ASAP if you plan to attend. I will need your contact information, as well as the class dates you wish to reserve. Registration will be confirmed when payment is received. You may pay for the Gardening Program by sending a $350 check to my address or by calling me with your credit card number. (The fee for returning students is $275.) Gift certificates are available upon request.
Thank you in advance for helping me get the administrative stuff out of the way so we can get on with gardening! Please do not hesitate to call or email me if you have questions 336-644-6072. I look forward to seeing you in 2014!
Warm regards, Ellen
P.S. If you don’t have chrysanthemums in your garden, it is a great time to add them now while nurseries are stocked and you can choose your favorite colors. They are tough perennials that provide welcome color, often blooming in early summer and again in fall. They are also long lasting cut flowers.
