Mom's 86th birthday
My Mom’s 86th birthday was last Sunday. She is lives alone in her own home, swims at the YMCA twice a week, works the level 4 Sudoku (I can’t even spell it) puzzles and goes out on her scooter early every morning to pull weeds in her flower beds. I only hope I can age so gracefully!
Here is very valuable bit of information about the Guilford Horticulture Society’s 2012-2013 schedule of monthly speakers as well as their 30th Annual Symposium on February 23rd. Anyone can join for an annual membership fee of a measly $25! I highly recommend it!! This almost-secret society of some of the best gardeners in Greensboro is finally getting their website up in September so you will also be able to find them on the Web. For now, here is the speaker line up and many other details including how to join: Guilford Horticultural Society 2012-2013 (Make checks payable to Guilford Horticultural Society, not Mary Trusdale.)
My next gardening class is on September 7th and 8th (Fri & Sat) from 2pm to 5pm. It’s time to talk about late summer clean up, how to care for our lovely perennials to keep them looking fresh, seed saving, and plant propagation. You will be surprised how easy it is to get that “lush” look next year by sowing fall flower seeds, dividing perennials you already have, and rooting cuttings shared by friends and neighbors. I will have plenty of seeds and plant material for you to take home. (Just don’t make me pot it up.) Kindly RSVP.
