Invitation: Nature Photography Class

Calla Lily

Hello Fellow Gardener & Nature Enthusiasts,

As much as we love to create a beautiful landscape at our home, we love to have pictures that capture our breathtaking blooms, changing colors of the seasons, and vacation travels.  Whatever I know about photography I learned in a GTCC “Photography 101” class taught by David Huffines.  He is a professional photographer and excellent instructor – enthusiastic, fun and extremely skilled!  I asked him to teach a Nature Photography class at my home so that I could become a better photographer.  I thought YOU might like to come too!

David is offering a 3-hour Nature Photography class at my home on Saturday, July 14th from 5pm – 8pm.  Course fee is $40.  Enrollment will be limited to 12 students (This will include me and Jim!)  The course description and directions to my house are below.  Bring your camera, filters, sun shade, tripod or whatever equipment you have and want to practice with. A tripod is extremely useful for evening shots.

Nature Photography Course Description

Class will begin with the “art” of photography slide show, followed by a quick tutorial of the ‘how to’ of photographing landscapes far and near (about 30 minutes). The rest of the time will be spent in a ‘hands on’ application of capturing the moment of landscapes.  Students will take photographs and have the instructor there for critiques, questions and coaching.

During the ‘hands on’ application the instructor will give the class an assignment to ascertain if the students are fully applying the techniques needed.  This evening of photographing is packed with information and fun and designed to propel the student into a higher level of photo-making! With David’s wit and knowledge the class sessions will be very informative and entertaining.

Feel free to invite a friend.  I will have a few refreshments to sustain us.  It should be a very enjoyable evening and I hope you can be here!

Hi, I forgot to pay you for my friend Mandy Ryan, who would like to come to the photography class on the 14th. Call me when you get back and I will run a check to you. The blackberry jam is delicious!
